Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is a 8-session treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) that enables the mind to heal itself naturally in the same way that the body does.

Much of this natural coping mechanism occurs during sleep, particularly during rapid eye movement (REM) sleep. Francine Shapiro developed EMDR in 1987 utilising this natural process and it is now a NICE approved treatment for PTSD within the UK.
